The Upper Nyack Department of Public Works commissioned this new facility to provide expanded services to this small Hudson Valley community. The design intent, apart from functional requirements, was to create a “gateway” to the Village on its prominent Route 9W location. To save costs, a pre-engineered building was adapted to achieve design goal such as light transmitting acrylic gable ends, photovoltaic panels on an architectural standing seam metal roof, and an impact-resistant, decorative ground face block base.
